Introduction to Spinal Fixation System

Definition of spinal internal fixation system: used for the treatment of spinal diseases and traumatic fractures

What's included:

Cervical system, posterior spinal system, spinal fusion

The posterior spinal system is also called the pedicle system, which consists of pedicle screws, cross-links, and connecting rods.

It is mainly used for the treatment of the following diseases:

· Spinal fixation can be used for trauma, such as fracture reduction; deformity correction, such as scoliosis and kyphosis;

· For spinal degenerative diseases, including disc herniation, spinal stenosis, cervical spondylosis, and spinal instability after decompression surgery.

Fixation can stabilize the spine. After bone graft fusion, internal fixation with pedicle screws can stabilize the spine and facilitate local bone graft fusion. Pedicle screw is a commonly used internal fixation device in spinal surgery. It provides strong fixation for spinal surgery, allowing patients to get out of bed early after surgery, which is conducive to recovery.

Anterior cervical system is also called anterior cervical internal fixation system, which consists of anterior cervical plate and screws

It is mainly used for the treatment of the following diseases:

The anterior cervical system is a commonly used method with good curative effect and relatively safe treatment for cervical degenerative diseases, trauma, tumor, inflammation and deformity, etc.

Spinal Fusion Cage (Intervertebral Fusion Cage)

Spinal fusion cages are divided into lumbar posterior spinal fusion cages and cervical spine fusion cages, usually made of PEEK.

Fusion is currently used for a small number of intervertebral disc herniation or spinal stenosis without dysfunction caused by spondylolisthesis. It is to make the original spinal segment unable to move and grow into a whole. It is usually applied when the stability of the spine is damaged or when correction is required, and it needs to be combined with internal fixation.
